(Agave tequilana Weber var. Azul)
Family: Agavaceae
HÁBITAT
Although it is naturally distributed in the western zone of Mexico; The Tequila Regulatory Council has delimited the prolifera ion of this plant in the central region of Jalisco, western Guanajuato, some parts of Tamaulipas, Nayarit and Michoacán with the aim of having a better produc ion of said alcoholic beverage. The most suitable lands for its cul iva ion are dry, clay-type soils, rich in reddish-colored silica, high and stony.

Popularly known for its use to make tequila through the center of the agave (known as pineapple).
