Architect and m.A. in landscape Architecture. his studio was recognized by obrAs magazine as one of the Ten Architecture studios of 2008. due to his works he has received many awards, among which can be highlighted the First places from obras Cemex in 2002, 2004, 2007, and 2009; also the plaque of honour FCArm in 2004. Founding director of school of Architecture and design in universidad marista de merida where the “Catedra extraordinaria mario A. peniche lópez” was instituted in 2010 to honor his labor as an architect and teacher.
Architect graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán in 1991. Awarded the Gold Medal in the 3rd and 10th Biennial of Yucatecan architecture and with the Grand Prix of the IX national Biennial of Mexican architecture in 2006. He received the medal of artistic merit by the government of the state of Yucatán in the year 2000. Author of the project the Senate of the Mexican Republic in 2003. Director of the School of Architecture of the Marista University of Mérida from 2009 to 2018. Since 1994 he founded Muñoz Arquitectos Asociados based in Mérida, Yucatán. In 2016 the publishing house Arquine published a book dedicated to his work.
Pedro Camarena is a Landscape Architect from the National Autonomous University of Mexico with a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Lanús / FLACAM, Argentina (2009). Co-founder of the LAAP Workshop, focused on landscape architecture, urban interventions and proposals on a territorial scale, he is professor of the Design Workshop in the Academic Unit of Landscape Architecture of the UNAM and visiting professor in the Master in Landscape Architecture of the Marist University of Mérida, Yucatán. He is a Program Consultant for the Ecological Control Program of the UNAM Campus and for the Ecological Reserve in Pedregal de San Angel. He is also specialized in ecological restoration, green infrastructure and mobility, and has published works on these topics.
