Hop-Park: Green Pop-up. Hop into the Greeniverse
Come and discover Hop-Park: Green Pop-up. Hop into the Greeniverse, an urban oasis that redefines what ‘city commuting’ means. It is a living structure created for you to breathe, heal from stress, and reconnect with nature, designed by Shma Company Limited.
Hop Park is a project that instantly creates a green space that requires low maintenance and makes the least change to the original structure. The space can easily “hop” and adapt to different areas while tackling the problems of the city.
Shma, in collaboration with Garnier, -a leading brand in the natural beauty industry- and Bangkok Metropolitan, created a 550-square-meter park on the busy “Pathumwan” skywalk. The project aims to show how green spaces can be part of our daily life. This space has the potential to slow down the pace of life in this public transportation hub, providing meeting points and creating a pleasant environment for passersby. Hop-Park is a prototype that can later be adapted to other areas.
Hop-Park has the ability to “hop” to other areas and instantly transform more gray spaces into vibrant, lush green environments.

Hop-Park tiene la capacidad de “saltar” a otras zonas y convertir instantáneamente más espacios grises en entornos verdes y llenos de vida.

Hop Park landscape design is divided into 5 zones. With around 20,000 trees, each zone is designed to maximize green space and enhance the user experience.

1. Green Air Zone
Bangkok is currently buried under dust and smoke. Several studies have shown that green spaces help filter pollution and purify the air. Each year, a tree can produce enough oxygen for two people, absorb 9 to 15 kilograms of carbon dioxide, and capture 1.4 kilograms of dust and pollutants.
2. Blue-Green Oasis Zone
Vegetation does not only grow on land. Blue space is also a crucial part of the ecosystem. Aquatic plants help remove bacteria, filter water, and reduce water pollution.

3. Edible Haven Zone
Food production and groceries are becoming increasingly expensive. In the era of globalization, food security has become a concern in many cities around the world. Edible green spaces address this issue by providing healthy and sufficient food. They offer city dwellers a food source while encouraging them to grow their own urban gardens.

4. Ecological Diversity Zone
Human beings are not the only living creatures. There are also animals and insects that play an important role in preserving ecosystems. Plants in this zone provide food for animals and insects, offer sweet nectar, and create shelter for these small creatures.

5. Wellness Retreat Zone
Life in a big city forces people to constantly rush to reach their destinations, often forgetting to appreciate the beauty around them. This zone invites people to sit among the greenery, take a break, and slow down. Visitors can enjoy the fragrance of flowers, helping them relax and recover after a long day.
At night, Hop-Park’s lighting shines through, ensuring safety for pedestrians. Meanwhile, “projection mapping” adds more fun and color to the space, turning it into an ideal leisure environment for Bangkok residents.
