ARQ. PSJ. MARIO A. PENICHE LÓPEZ
Architect and Master in Landscape Architecture. His firm was recognized by obrAs magazine among the ten leading architecture firms of 2008. He has received numerous awards for his work, including First Place honors from the Cemex Works Awards in 2002, 2004, 2007, and 2009, as well as the Placa de Honor from FcARM in 2004. Founder and Director of the School of Architecture and Design at Universidad Marista de Mérida, where in 2010 the “Mario A. Peniche López Extraordinary Chair” was established in recognition of his contribution as both architect and educator.
ARQ. PSJ. JAVIER MUÑOZ
Architect, graduate of the Autonomous University of Yucatán (1991). Awarded the Gold Medal at the 3rd and 10th Yucatán Architecture Biennial, and the Grand Prize at the 9th National Mexican Architecture Biennial in 2006. In 2000, he received the Medal of Artistic Merit from the Government of the State of Yucatán. He was the author of the design for the Mexican Senate building in 2003. From 2009 to 2018, he served as Director of the School of Architecture at Universidad Marista de Mérida. In 1994, he founded Muñoz Arquitectos Asociados in Mérida, Yucatán. In 2016, the publishing house Arquine released a book dedicated to his work.
ARQ. PSJ. PEDRO CAMARENA
Landscape Architect from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) with a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Lanús / FLACAM, Argentina (2009). Co-founder of Taller LAAP, focused on landscape architecture, urban interventions, and territorial-scale proposals. He is a Design Studio professor at the Landscape Architecture Academic Unit at UNAM and a visiting professor in the Master’s in Landscape Architecture program at Universidad Marista de Mérida, Yucatán. He also serves as Program Consultant for the Ecological Control Program at the UNAM Campus and for the Ecological Reserve of Pedregal de San Ángel. Specialized in ecological restoration, green infrastructure, and mobility, he has published works on these topics.
