{"id":5055,"date":"2019-02-19T10:14:34","date_gmt":"2019-02-19T16:14:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.landuum.com\/?p=5055"},"modified":"2019-03-15T12:01:05","modified_gmt":"2019-03-15T18:01:05","slug":"restaurante-ixiim-delighting-the-senses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.landuum.com\/en\/interventions\/restaurante-ixiim-delighting-the-senses\/","title":{"rendered":"RESTAURANTE IXI\u2019IM: Delighting the senses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Ixi\u2019im Restaurant comprises the re-use of the engine house of an old henequen hacienda, San Antonio Chabl\u00e9, whose productive <\/span><!--more--><span class=\"s1\">splendor was in the second half of the 19th century and its subsequent decline occurred in the second half of the 20th century. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This intervention has generated new uses for our built cultural heritage. The site consists\u00a0 of several independent structures, including the engine room, which shape the public space or main square. A north &#8211; south axis connects the main set of the hacienda with other nearby settlements since its original use.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h6 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">PROJECT LOCATED IN CHOCHOL\u00c1, YUCATAN. Referring to the original activity and its industrial elements, the intervention strategy is materialized in a large metallic enclosure that weaves, through the preexisting building, the new architectural program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This articulating frame, whose internal offset liberates the existing walls from structural responsibility, generates a new interstitial space of dialogue between heritage and intervention. This place provides the opportunity to reencounter with the wind, the temperature, the noises of the Yucatecan rainforest and its textures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 dependency cannot be replicated in any other place.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><em> <\/em>During the visit, there is an aspect that stands out for the sense of smell: the old stone walls hold the world\u2019s biggest collection of tequila bottles, more than three thousand bottles offer an aroma which combined with the gastronomy, the henequen ropes, and the wood finishes, all together generate a unique combination that will remain forever in the mind of the visitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-6 is-layout-flex
