Their color can vary as well as their size which can be from 3.5 cm up to 7 cm <sup>1<\/sup>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most of them inhabit lentic aquatic systems <sup>3<\/sup> (waterbodies that remain static) and are considered general depredators because they can feed on both terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates <sup>1<\/sup>, and sometimes even fish in juvenile stages.
