Verde Lavanda presents <\/span>Casa Lomas del Campestre<\/b>, a residential project located in Tuxtla Guti\u00e9rrez, Chiapas, where architecture and landscape are integrated through a succession of gardens, each with its own identity. The landscape design creates a meaningful living experience, connected to the architecture, climate, and vegetation of the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

Located in the city of Tuxtla Guti\u00e9rrez, Chiapas, this contemporary residence was conceived as a sequence of spaces, where architecture and landscape come together to create a living experience deeply connected to the climate and characteristic vegetation of the region. From the early stages of the project, the landscape design sought to become an articulating element of everyday life, providing privacy, environmental comfort, and a close connection between the interior and exterior spaces.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main constraint of the project was the presence of a large existing tree in the rear garden, whose preservation defined much of the landscape composition. Rather than considering it a limitation, the tree became the protagonist of the outdoor space, visually and functionally organizing the terrace, pool, and gathering areas. Its mature canopy provides shade, scale, and permanence, establishing a dialogue between contemporary architecture and the established landscape.<\/span><\/p>\n

The proposal was developed as a succession of gardens, each with its own identity, that accompany the circulation through the residence. The access from the street is characterized by a front garden with a clean and contemporary composition, where masses of Pennisetum soften the presence of the front of the residence through movement, texture, and seasonality. The vegetation functions as a transition between the public space and the privacy of the residence, reinforcing the restrained language of the architectural materials.<\/span><\/p>\n

The pedestrian entrance incorporates one of the two interior courtyards of the house. A pair of trees, accompanied by a reflecting pool, welcomes visitors and creates an atmosphere of calm from the very first moment. Further on, a second interior courtyard constitutes the true heart of the house. This space functions as a visual endpoint that can be appreciated from the living room, dining room, kitchen, and office, becoming a contemplative element that introduces natural light, vegetation, and reflections into the interior of the house, strengthening the spatial continuity between architecture and landscape.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the rear garden, the design emphasizes an exuberant atmosphere, inspired by the tropical vegetation characteristic of southeastern Mexico. In terms of mid-level vegetation, plants such as Monstera deliciosa (swiss cheese plant), Thaumatophyllum xanadu (xanadu philodendron), and Alocasia macrorrhiza (giant elephant’s ear) were used, forming a plant palette of generous foliage capable of complementing the pool, terrace, and billiard area through contrasts in textures, volumes, and different shades of green. The botanical selection responds both to aesthetic criteria and to the plants\u2019 adaptation to the warm-humid climate of Tuxtla Guti\u00e9rrez, favoring a low-maintenance landscape with high sensory value.<\/span><\/p>\n

As the focal point of the main garden, a green wall was incorporated to act as the visual endpoint of the circulation and provide visual depth to the space. Its presence complements the horizontal vegetation and reinforces the sense of immersion in a tropical garden, while also integrating a living surface into the architectural ensemble.<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, a side garden accompanies the vehicular access and garage, extending the vegetal language toward the service routes and ensuring that the landscape accompanies the user throughout the entire experience of the house.<\/span><\/p>\n

The landscape integrates with the architecture without competing with it: it frames it, runs through it, and gives it meaning. Each garden was conceived to establish a distinct relationship with the habitable spaces; for example, to welcome, contemplate, socialize, or provide privacy. The vegetation, water, and existing trees create a sequence of experiences that transform the perception of the home throughout the day and across the seasons, making the garden an essential component of family life and an element that strengthens the connection between the architecture, the climate, and those who inhabit it.<\/span><\/p>\n
