Yaax Paisajismo invites us to discover the <\/span>R\u00edo de los Remedios project: a successful regeneration story<\/b>, an intervention that demonstrates the power of ecological restoration and brings color and nature back to a once-forgotten area.<\/span><\/p>\n

We joined a project by the Mexico City Ministry of the Environment (SEDEMA) with the goal of regenerating the R\u00edo de los Remedios area. The solution: applying hydroseeding to bring life back to the landscape.<\/span><\/p>\n

This technique involves spraying a mixture of water, native seeds, protectants, fertilizers, and additives onto the soil. In this way, we not only ensure that the seeds adhere to the ground, but also accelerate germination and the formation of a green cover.<\/span><\/p>\n

Achievements: we reduced the loss of vegetation cover, stopped erosion in sloped areas, and established a mosaic of native flowering plants from Mexico.<\/span><\/p>\n

After one year of the project, we have confirmed the successful adaptation of the species, which have even generated their own seed bank. After the drought, with minimal maintenance, the plants have come back to life with the rains. The area has become a magnet for a wide variety of pollinators, increasing biodiversity and fostering the growth of more local vegetation, which has integrated perfectly with the project\u2019s original palette.<\/span><\/p>\n

The transformation is complete. Once a neglected area, it is now a place full of life, color, and harmony, a space that invites the community to connect with nature, to observe, and to learn about its cycles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hydroseeding<\/span><\/p>\n

Its goal is to quickly establish plant communities on eroded soils, restoring a healthy ecological environment to disturbed areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is a technique that sprays a mixture of water, seeds, protective coverings, binders, fertilizers, and additives, which promotes seed adhesion to the soil, germination, and the formation of vegetative cover.<\/span><\/p>\n

It helps stop erosion in sloped areas by planting seeds of native species, which have a higher adaptation rate to the area, reduce the maintenance required for their establishment, and create a soil seed bank that will continue to act naturally in the restored zone.<\/span><\/p>\n
