This past September, Landuum Landscape Magazine<\/strong> witnessed a highly significant event for the community of landscape designers, landscape architects, and nature enthusiasts in Mexico City<\/strong>. From September 24\u201327, 2025<\/strong>, the 14th Landscape Architecture Congress<\/strong> took place, organized by the Mexican Society of Landscape Architects (SAPmx)<\/strong> in collaboration with the Metropolitan Autonomous University<\/strong>, the School of Architecture of An\u00e1huac University<\/strong>, and the Kaluz Museum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The congress included lectures, keynote talks, tours, and workshops<\/strong> focused on exploring the landscape under this edition\u2019s theme: \u201cFrom the garden to regional design for building sustainable territories.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Activities began with a tour of the new spaces of Chapultepec Forest<\/strong>, led by Maritza Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong> and Taller Mauricio Rocha<\/strong>, visiting the Environmental Cultural Center<\/strong>, the Cableb\u00fas<\/strong>, the New Cineteca<\/strong>, and the Serpientes y Escaleras<\/strong> space, showcasing new landscape and architectural interventions<\/strong> in the urban context.<\/p>\n

On September 25<\/strong>, the inauguration took place at An\u00e1huac University\u2019s Mexiquense Auditorium<\/strong>, featuring prominent figures such as Eliseo Arredondo<\/strong>, founding member of SAPmx<\/strong> and of the Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Landscape Architecture at UNAM<\/strong>, along with SAPmx<\/strong> authorities and former presidents.<\/p>\n

During these days, attendees participated in lectures and panels<\/strong> such as \u201cChallenges in Landscape Architecture Education in Mexico,\u201d<\/strong> led by experts from UNAM<\/strong>, UAM<\/strong>, and An\u00e1huac University Mexico<\/strong>, covering design, resilience, ecology, and sustainability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On September 26 and 27<\/strong>, the Kaluz Museum<\/strong> hosted Landuum Landscape Magazine<\/strong>, showcasing our printed editions<\/strong> and a landscape intervention<\/strong> indoors and on the terrace by Fabiola Molina<\/strong> in collaboration with Sebasti\u00e1n MacGregor<\/strong>, with participation from strategic partners in gardening and landscaping<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Saturday, September 27<\/strong>, featured special guests such as Megumi Andrade Hashimoto<\/strong>, Armando Pliego Ishikawa<\/strong>, and \u00c9rika Bel\u00e9n Villag\u00f3mez<\/strong>, along with a workshop by Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Soul\u00e9<\/strong> on designing successful plant palettes<\/strong>. The panels \u201cArt and Landscape\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cWater in the Landscape\u201d<\/strong> and lectures by Susana Mal\u00f3n<\/strong>, Wolke Tob\u00f3n<\/strong>, Aurelio S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>, and Claudia Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong> were widely attended and streamed online<\/strong>, with strong student engagement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Landuum organized the Photography Contest<\/strong> with SAPmx<\/strong> and participated in the awards ceremony, which also recognized the winners of the Graphic Poster Contest<\/strong>, with their works displayed in the poster exhibition at the Kaluz Museum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The congress concluded on September 28<\/strong> with a guided tour of downtown Mexico City<\/strong> by Eduardo Res\u00e9ndiz Archundia<\/strong>, exploring the history of Mexico-Tenochtitl\u00e1n<\/strong>, its postcolonial transformation<\/strong>, and the evolution of its green spaces and landscaping<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event strengthened the Landscape Architecture community, disseminating the discipline nationally and internationally, celebrating the multiscalarity of the territory, and confronting climate change.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This event strengthened the Landscape Architecture community<\/strong>, promoted the new Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Landscape Architecture at An\u00e1huac University<\/strong>, and highlighted the discipline\u2019s work nationally and internationally<\/strong>, emphasizing its importance in addressing climate change and environmental challenges<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We thank SAPmx<\/strong>, the National Landscape Architecture Congress<\/strong>, IFLA<\/strong> (International Federation of Landscape Architects), museums<\/strong>, universities<\/strong>, and strategic partners<\/strong> for their collaboration and support, and we are pleased to announce that Landuum Landscape<\/strong> will publish a special e-book edition<\/strong> dedicated to this 14th edition<\/strong>, compiling each lecture<\/strong> as recognition of the shared work<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
